Day 128, 129 and 130

Day 128
Boat trip to Jetty Island with Grami to celebrate her birthday.  A beautiful Northwest Spring day.  How the girls can play on the beach in swimsuits while I am so cold I'm in a jacket and wrapping myself in a towel, I'll never know.  The girls got to do one of their Jetty Island favorites - sand jumping.  John and the girls washed the boat.  Back home we had a yummy halibut dinner with mini princess cakes (from IKEA) for dessert.  I snuck out for a 5 mile run. The girls helped me make a homemade ice cream cake throughout the day (layer freeze layer freeze layer freeze).

Day 129
Brunch with Grami and the rest of the F-A family for Mother's Day at Crystal Creek Cafe.  Move over Shari's Restaurants, the girls have found a new favorite pancake place and this one has mini M&M pancakes - top that.  Back home, we enjoyed homemade ice cream cake, I mean really homemade, two kinds of homemade ice cream, homemade chocolate sauce, can I use the word "homemade" anymore this sentence again?  Car washing for John and the girls.  A 12 mile run for me . . . almost a half marathon.  We were loving the sun - what a perfect weekend!

Day 130
Swimming, walk, rest. If you've been reading the blog you'll know which family member belongs to which activity. Time together was enjoying more ice cream cake with Grami.

Day 121 and 122

Day 121
John gets to count the 5 hours of waxing the boat as his workout.  I got in 5 hours of running.  The kids did some trampoline time across the street 30 min.  Hannah also helped daddy wash the car.

Day 122
We spent time in the backyard weeding, planting and repotting plants.  Hannah's sunflower from Pioneer Club broke into 3 pieces and she was absolutely crushed since her teacher had requested a picture of her standing by her grown sunflower next fall.  I suggested to Hannah that we do a "science experiement" and see if it is a plant that grows from cuttings.  We planted each of the 3 parts.  I told her we would also grow a new plant from a seed.  She was worried that it was too late, but I asuered he we would have a new plant in no time.  I got in 11 miles today.  I'm hoping my basil plant from trader Joes makes it outside. It has been in the house for a few weeks.  Hopefully the impending wind storm tonight doens't wreak havoc on our new plants.  I only need to be at about 9 miles, but am happy that I am still ahead of schedule.  Hopefully the race itself will be easier if I've had lots of practice going close to 13 miles.

Day 108 and 109

These two days were if-we-piece-it-all-together-then-I-think-we-did-OK days. They were both such nice warm, sunny days, we just had to be outside.  So, though we weren't doing all our activities together, I think we met the goal to get outside and moving.

Day 108
Girls - trampoline time across the street, car washing with Daddy, helping mom make ice cream and slushies with our new ice cream maker

John - car washing, lawn mowing (are you seeing a trend here?)

Jen - 9 miles on the Burke Gilman

Day 109
Girls - swim lessons, weeding with Daddy, running around outside with the neighborhood kids.  Both girls got some extra time in with Mommy today - Hannah reading and Haley ABCs.

John - walking loop and yard work

Jen - this is my bonafide rest/recovery day, a part of the training program, and a good thing because I was sore and tired today. Well, technically I was supposed to do some stengthening and stretching but I opted for working on cleaing the house which is still no where near clean, decluttered, presentable, choose your favorite phrase.

Stay tuned for tomorrow when I figure out how the heck to fit my run in - it will be a busy day
